The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore was founded in Milan on December 7, 1921 by Father Agostino Gemelli. The university’s first courses in Philosophy and Social Sciences were held in the historic building located in via S. Agnese. These first courses, like all the courses that have followed, were inspired by Gemelli’s desire to promote cultural growth while fostering human and spiritual development. Since its founding, the university has become a central point of reference for the Milanese intellectual community. In 1968 approximately 30,000 students were registered at the university. This figure helps to illustrate how the Università Cattolica had developed into an important academic community, divided into 8 faculties: Economics, Law, Languages and Literature, Educational Science, Banking, Finance and Insurance Sciences, Political Science and Psychology.
The International Office provides a two-day orientation at the beginning of each semester. Academic counseling is available in each academic department. The Orientation Office works to ensure that students have the necessary information to make the best decisions regarding the alternatives available to them, taking into account their particular abilities and ambitions.
The IT Service runs many multimedia laboratories on various sites that are equipped for teaching, research and practical work. Students are welcome to use the classrooms at the times displayed.
